Introduction
The objective of the competition is to score music that would suit Immortal Empire. The game is a turn-based strategic RPG set in a fantasy world. It is similar to the Baldur's Gate franchise of games by Bioware, and music with the same feel would be appropriate. Theme
In general, the songs are meant to loop. Orchestral (Baldur's Gate) or Progressive Orchestral (Mass Effect, Diablo 2, Starcraft) music would be appropriate. Music can be in any one of the following themes:
- Background music for "Grasslands" environment
- Background music for "Desert" environment
- Background music for "Polar" environment
- Background music for "Volcanic" environment
- Boss battle music
- Ambient menu music
- Dialog music for when the plot advances
Rules
- The deadline for submissions is March 15th, 2009.
- You may enter as many songs as you like, in as many themes as you like.
- You may collaborate with other composers. Prize money will be awarded to whoever submitted the entry.
- Songs must be in OGG, MP3 or XRNS format (in game they will be converted to OGG).
- Songs must be composed using Renoise.
- Songs must be 100% original by the composer, and must not contain any copyrighted elements.
Prizes
The entries will be judged by our development team, and ranked in order of how much we liked them!
Any song submitted may be used in the final product of the game, and there is no guarantee that a particular song will be used.
- 1st place - $300
- 2nd place - $200
- 3rd place - $100
All prizes are in US Dollars and will be paid through the PayPal service. (Note: if PayPal is not available in your country and you win a prize, contact us to make alternate payment arrangements)
How to enter
Entry for the competition is closed, and we are not longer accepting any songs. Results will be made available on March 30th.
